Electricity supply

By law all users are entitled to access the transmission and distribution network. Possible ways for purchasing electric energy:

• from the the electricity retailer,
• from the producer,
• via organized electricity market,
• via cross-border power delivery

Contracting

The provider has a contracting obligation. In general, a public utility contract is created between the parties, but it is possible to conclude a specific contract as well.
 

Measure of consumption

The service providers has to check the electronic meter regulary. They must privide the credible performance measurements. The provider must check and replace the defective meter at its own expense, if the consumer requests.

Rules on prices

The user has to pay the price of electricity and the fees for using of the system. The fees of using the system and even the fee of an unit of electric power (kWatts/hour) is fixed by law. The dealer's price of electricity is determined in the agreement of the parties. The price of electricity is officially fixed (by the government and the Hungarian Energy Office.

Remedy

The Consumer Protection Authority is acting on the accounts, invoicing, payment of fees or related to measurement of retail consumer complaint.
The Hungarian Energy Office acts as the retail consumer is not as accountable to customers, invoicing, payment of fees or measurement-related complaint.
