Patients' rights in general

 

Patient: health care recipient or the person receiving it;
Health care: the patient's particular health status of activities related to health;
The goal of patient rights: to secure the moral rights, and ensure the realization of basic human rights.

 

In constitutional democracies, people are free to decide the identity and the issues affecting their lives. The effectiveness of legislation depends on how they can be applied in everyday practice. It is also important that citizens know their rights.
 

The Hungarian Constitution declares between the fundamental rights and obligations, that
"In the Republic of Hungary every human being has the inherent right to life and human dignity ...." furthermore,
In the Republic of Hungary people have the right for the highest level of physical and mental health. The Republic of Hungary allows these goals by ensuring the health institutions and the organization of medical care, regular exercise, and by saving the natural and built environment
The Parliament created the Act of Health on the 1997th CLIV year, which defines the rights and obligations of patients.

  • The right to leave the institution
  • The right to information
  • The right to self-determination
  • The right to refuse care
  • Knowledge of the medical records law
  • Right to medical privacy
  • Medical treatment, care about the right to investigate complaints
