Unsolicited e-mails (Spam)

An increasingly proliferating phenomenon of the internet is spam, that fully loads mailboxes all over the world. Spam is an unsolicited e-mail.

The purpose of spam can be a two-way: direct and aggressive marketing (advertising) or fraud to obtain information from the recipient.

A big part of spam is only for promotional purposes. Such letters may come, both domestically and abroad, mostly pharmaceuticals, software, services, or sexual issues.
The law stipulates that only by a clear prior consent of consumers can allow providers to send electronic advertisements. So the consumer first has to sign up for the newsletter. Sending without this agreement is an illegal act.

Never give out e-mail address or other personal data for doubtful webpages! It is very common, that during the ordering process there is an embedded step to sign up for newsletters. This must not happen implicitly, a separate consent is required. This also can afford by setting up a new software. Take care of this little questions, and do not click without reading the terms of use. The previous consent may be withdrawn at any time, ie the provider has to provide the possibility to unsubscribe the service.

The more dangerous form of spam coming from email fraud purposes. Such spam are about lottery wins, travels and other gifts to try to deceive the consumer. Never give out personal data! The banks do not usually identify clients or collect data by e-mail.(Eg, credit card number, account number, etc).

When identifying the origin of the spam, then turn to the National Communications Authority.
